My name is AJ Frentz. I grew up on a cul-de-sac at the edge of a town you've probably never heard of. That town sat inside the 1980s suburban hellscape of South Mississippi - a place I eventually learned to love and appreciate. A place where I learned to be alone without being lonely.

Lived in a house with seven other siblings. Bunk bed in the den until thirteen.

Studied literature at Tulane, then dropped out to hit the road. Worked odd jobs all over America: projectionist, short-order cook, official minor league baseball statistician. But mostly? A singer-songwriter and author of stories in every genre.

Writes for the children he could never have. Also writes for the dares his little brothers throw at him.

Favorite book: The Hobbit. Favorite movie: Some Came Running. Favorite album: Painted from Memory (Bacharach & Costello).

Finishing a first YA novel now. Two children's books on submission. Lives in Huntsville, Alabama - the quietest neighborhood he could find.
